British Airways to start Boeing 787 service to Chennai

British Airways has announced that it will commence operations with it’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Chennai from 27th October 2014 (Monday). The service will also be upgraded to a daily direct flight from six weekly flights on the Boeing 777 as per the current schedule. Garuda Indonesia announces order for 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8s

US Airframer Boeing has announced an order for 50 737 MAX 8s, valued at $4.9 billion at current list prices from Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia. The airline will purchase 46 737 MAX 8s and will convert four existing orders of 737-800s to 737 MAX 8s. Boeing and leasing company Avolon have finalized an order for six 787-9 Dreamliners and five additional 737 MAX 9s, valued at more than $2.1 billion at list prices. Airbus announces first order for the A350 since launch of the A330neo

Airbus has just announced the first A350 order since the launch of the A330neo. Air Mauritius has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to order four A350-900s. The airline has also announced that it will be leasing two additional A350-900s. The airline currently operates an all Airbus jet fleet including A319s, A330s and A340s.

The first was that Thai carrier Nok Air has converted two of their four options for Q400 turboprops to firm orders bringing the total number of Q400’s sold to 501 aircraft.
