Airbus begins construction of A220 production line in America

European airframer Airbus has begun construction of company’s American A220 manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama. The new assembly line will be located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley adjacent to the companies existing A320 family production line and will be used to produce A220-100 and A220-300 aircraft for U.S. customers. Low cost carrier SpiceJet has taken delivery of Bombardier’s first 90-seat Q400 turbo-prop. The Canadian airframer had announced in February 2016 that it would develop an extra-capacity 90 seat variant of the Q400. Spicejet operates India’s first bio-fuel flight

Low cost carrier SpiceJet operated India’s first BioJet Fuel powered flight yesterday. The airline operated the flight with a Bombardier Q400 on the Dehradun – Delhi route. The fuel used is a blend of 75% traditional aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and 25% of BioJet fuel. The fuel is made by Jatropha crop and been developed by the CSIR-Indian Institute of …

Bombardier delivers first CS300 to AirBaltic

Canadian airframer, Bombardier has delivered it’s first CS300 aircraft to the launch customer, Latvian flag carrier AirBaltic. The carrier will launch its first CS300 flight from Riga to Amsterdam on 14 December. A Spicejet Bombardier Q400 operating flight SG1085 from Bangalore to Hubli had a runway excursion on landing at Hubli Airport. Bombardier announces 500th order for the Q400 and 500th commitment for C Series

Canadian airframer Bombardier announced two milestones today morning at Farnborough. The first was that Thai carrier Nok Air has converted two of their four options for Q400 turboprops to firm orders bringing the total number of Q400’s sold to 501 aircraft.
