Plane spotting photos: On time is a speedy thing – IndiGo pilot or Formula 1 contender?

India’s largest low fare carrier IndiGo, is known for its no-fuss service and its flight punctuality. The airline has a television advertisement boasting the punch line “On time is a wonderful thing”.

Back in late November, early morning flights at Bangalore were delayed due to fog. As the fog lifted with the morning sun, there was the usual mad scramble of flights departing and arriving.

One particular IndiGo flight crew appeared highly motivated to try and catch up the lost time, exiting the runway at quite a high speed, spoilers and engine reversers still deployed, and the plane tilting with lateral g-forces that even the captain was clutching on to the instrument panel (click on the image for a larger view).

I wonder if IndiGo considering following Dr. Mallya and entering the arena of Formula 1 racing? They do seem to have some great candidates with a penchant speed.

Its Monday morning, and some just humour to start off the week.
