PARIS 2019: KLM to purchase 35 Embraer E195-E2s

KLM Cityhopper has announced its intention to purchase 35 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft at the Paris Air Show today. The deal which will be finalised after the show will incude 15 firm orders and options for 20 more aircraft.

“Embraer has been a key partner for KLM and Cityhopper over the past ten years. Our customers appreciate the E190 and E175’s. The E2 would be a welcome addition to the KLM fleet, giving us greater capacity flexibility and help to manage down costs. In addition, the environmentally friendly E195-E2 also supports our sustainability goals with lower levels of noise and emissions.”

KLM Cityhopper operates an all Embraer fleet and is Europe’s biggest E-Jet operator with 49 aircraft. The airline has 32 E190s and 17 E175s.

Embraer is aggressively marketing the re-engined E195-E2 at the Paris Air Show and is displaying the aircraft in a striking special livery dubbed “The Profit Hunter”.
