Many killed in Brussels explosions. 2 Jet Airways staff injured.

Brussels’ Zaventem airport and metro system were attacked by multiple bombings. Bombs exploded earlier this morning near the check-in area. The authorities have shut down the airport and the metro system. The French-Belgian border is sealed.

Media reports on the number of casualties and injuries vary. CNN quoting Belgian media reports 23 deaths, while BBC reports 13 deaths. Other media sources claim a death toll higher than 30.

Jet Airways which uses Brussels as its scissor hub says all its A330 aircraft are safe. The airline spokesperson also said

“Jet Airways guests and staff on the land-side at Brussels airport have been moved away far-off from the terminal. Transit guests who were in the terminal building have been shifted to hangers in coaches. Our Brussels staff is co-ordinating with airport authorities and security agencies to arrange immigration formalities as soon as possible to move the transit guests out of the airport.”

The airline confirmed two Jet Airways staff were injured and were receiving medical care. The airline said the rest of its staff and all crew are safe.

Jet Airways has cancelled all its Brussels flights for today, and some for tomorrow.
