Jet Airways to allow penalty free cancellation of bookings within 24 hours

India’s largest private airline, Jet Airways, has taken a leaf out of the playbook of many international carriers and introduced a new initiative to waive penalty fees for cancellations made within 24 hours of bookings made on their website. A very smart and passenger friendly move which deserves congratulations.

The new initiative is limited to bookings made on the airline’s website and allows guests to amend or cancel their booking without any penalty fee by using the “Manage Booking” facility, up to one hour before the scheduled departure time for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.

Changes in the booking like travel dates and/or times will still be subject to fare differences, though the penalty fees will be waived. A decrease in fare will not be refunded, in which case, you are better off cancelling and re-booking.
