Air travel in India is not going to be same anymore – Vistara CEO

The Tata-Singapore Airlines joint venture airline, Vistara, expects to get its flying permit this week, promising a new air travel experience in India. This was disclosed by airline chief executive officer Yeoh Phee Teik in an internal email to staff which Bangalore Aviation had a chance to view. In the mail Mr. Yeoh said “..we have completed the certification process and it will be a matter of days before we receive our long awaited permit (AOP) to fly.”

Mr. Yeoh participated in the airline’s proving flight which operated from its planned hub in New Delhi to Mumbai to Ahmedabad and back to New Delhi. The CEO and his team touched down at New Delhi in the wee hours of Saturday morning December 6th, at 02:07 hours. Proving flights are made in presence of inspectors of the aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and are the final step before the airline operating permit is given.

Vistara Chief Commercial Officer Mr. G.M. Toh will commence the airline’s service excellence drive tomorrow and the words of Mr. Yeoh promise of good times to come

“And to the entire nation, you will soon welcome to the new experience, the Vistara Signatures. Air Travel in India is not going to be same anymore”
