Vasuki Prasad, the flying engineer, joins Bangalore Aviation

We are pleased and proud to announce, Vasuki Prasad, who writes as “The Flying Engineer”, will be a regular contributor to Bangalore Aviation, specifically focussing on the technical side of aviation.

Starting next week, Vasuki will write a weekly column called “Tech Tuesdays” which will focus on the technical side of aviation, but with reduced complexity for the benefit of our enthusiast readers.

Vasuki has a rich background in the technical side of aviation having worked with Honeywell. He has experience with an international airport, part of calibration flight tests, and has repaired and maintained aeronautical navigational and radio equipment. He has worked on Airbus Flight Management Systems (FMS), and LED based aircraft lights. He built five fixed based flight simulators for Honeywell, across three locations in India. He also has full flight simulator experiences on approved Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 full flight simulators and he’s visited and studied four of the best flight schools across India.

We seek your feedback via comments with subjects you would like to see covered. May be a what is involved in a “C check” or “D check”, or a comparison between the turbo-props in the Indian market, or the fuel efficiency of a Boeing 747-400 vs. Boeing 777-200LR, or some aspect of technical operations at an airport or performance based navigation or which flight school to attend? The possibilities are endless.

So do post your topic suggestions via a comment.
