Air India now accepts American Express credit cards for online bookings

Air India has started accepting American Express credit cards for payment of on-line bookings made on its website, for journeys originating from USA, UK, Europe, Japan and Singapore. The airline till now was accepting only Visa and MasterCard. American Express is a popular credit card, especially in the United States and offers card-holders significant privileges compared to most other credit cards.

This long awaited facility should hopefully help the beleaguered national carrier improving its on-line booking revenues overseas.

Air India flies to and from New York, Newark and Chicago in the United States, London and Birmingham in United Kingdom, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore and, Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.

  1. AI does not allow booking any of the code share flights on its website. First they should fix their booking system. Thomascook provides better AI code share schedules than AI website. Always they dig the mountain to catch a mouse. Worrying statements from the management even on the Star Alliance integration. They wanted to integrate only the domestic AI network due to the fact that AI ontime performance at Delhi is not good. With the current OTP they would miss lot of connecting flights and end up paying for the hotel accommodation to other airline passengers of star alliance.
