Wipro and Qatar Airways enter in to strategic partnership to develop aviation IT software

Doha based Qatar Airways and Bangalore based, Indian IT giant, Wipro have entered into a long-term strategic partnership, designed to develop new technological solutions for the airline.

This agreement will bring together Qatar Airways’ expertise in aviation systems and Wipro’s experience of application development and project management to develop a new suite of IT software.

The partnership was officially signed at the Doha headquarters of Qatar Airways by CEO Akbar Al Baker and Wipro chairman Azim Premji. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said

“Through this agreement, Wipro will work with us to build new aviation IT solutions to meet our business needs in a fast-moving environment to ultimately provide an overall enhanced customer experience and provide Qatar Airways with competitive edge in using the latest technology available.”

Under the new arrangement, a lot of the software development will be carried out by Wipro in South India.
