Topic of the week: – What should the Indian airline industry do, to survive 2012
2012 is going to be a rough year for airlines. Despite double digit growth in passengers, Indian airlines are leading the world in losses. Sky-rocketing oil prices, excessive government interference, gouging levels of taxation, airport charges running amock, a comatose Air India on constant tax-payer bailout, and unchecked fleet expansion by some airlines are just some of the challenges facing Indian carriers.
