Air India confirmed as customer of first South Carolina built Boeing 787 Dreamliner

The Post and Courier of Charleston is quoting Boeing spokeswoman Candy Eslinger who has officially confirmed that Indian national carrier Air India will be the receipient of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner built at the North Charleston facility in the state of South Carolina, sometime during the sping of 2012.

Air India, an early adopter of the aircraft has 27 Dreamliners on order with Boeing. Aircraft line number 46 (which is a serial number), will be the first twin-aisle wide body aircraft built by Boeing outside their Everett area facilities in Washington state.
