While Thanksgiving is not often celebrated in India, here in the US it is considered one of the four “big” holidays along with July 4th, Christmas, and New Years.
Thanksgiving’s origins date back to the late 1600s, when British colonists used a celebration to thank a group of friendly Native Americans for their assistance.
Today it mostly serves as a proxy for Americans to gorge themselves and watch copious amounts of American football.
