Breaking: All Nippon Airways (ANA) pilots threaten strike

The pilots at All Nippon Airways (ANA) have threatened to strike on October 1st, 2011 (this Saturday). No international flights will be affected by this action, but numerous domestic flights may be cancelled and/or delayed.

For passengers planning to fly ANA Group domestically (within Japan) on October 1st, the following are some contact numbers:

ANA Reservations Center: 0570-029-222 (within Japan)
ANA Mumbai Office: (022) 6147-0737
ANA Sky Web: http://www.ana.co.jp/eng

Passengers are encouraged to check the aforementioned locations for up to date information on the status of their flights.

The strike action will begin at 12:00 am in Japan on October 1st, and last for 24 hours. The ANA Group foresees that roughly 26% of its total domestic flights will be affected (186 cancellations, 66 delays).

Hopefully, ANA and its unions can work out a deal with the 4 pilot unions involved before a strike is enacted.
