Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5

First independent airport lounge opens at London Heathrow Terminal 5

The first independent shared-use airport lounge has opened at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5 (T5).

Located at the north end of the terminal, near gate A18, ‘Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5‘ is jointly owned and operated by Collinson Group, the owners of Priority Pass, and Swissport, the world’s largest aviation services provider. The lounge is open from 05:00 to 23:00 (5am to 11pm) each day.

Airside views

The 4,000 sq ft lounge has soaring windows on two sides giving passengers dramatic views of the T5A apron and runway 27L, which should allow for photography from 4pm onwards. (Note: Spotters and aviation enthusiasts can always visit the north or south ends of the departure drop-off zones of T5 for great pictures all day long. Heathrow is a great spotting airport, but do follow police instructions and do not walk on the up and down ramps.)

The menu features British-inspired seasonal food and drinks which includes a signature 12 year old single malt Spey Whisky.

The lounge also features state-of-the-art ‘rest pods’ which feature specially engineered lie-flat chairs which let passengers relax, rest, watch television, etc. in private. The ppods are free to use, but must be booked at the reception.

The Aspire Lounge also features the obligatory business support like free Wi-Fi, charging points, and quiet zones for the corporate traveller.

The lounge will be a boon for non premium class and non-elite tier passengers travelling from T5 who still desire the calm, peace and quiet an airport lounge affords.

Access and pricing

Priority Pass members will have access to the lounge as part of their membership. Non-members can access the lounge for three hours at a price of £40 paid at the reception on the day of travel. Advance bookings can be made at http://www.executivelounges.com and will cost £35.

The lounge offers additional chargeable services like showers for £20, spa treatments, and special wine flights and light meals. Full details are available on the lounge’s page.
